This division of Cassellholme provides a variety of support services to assist seniors and people
with disabilities to remain in their homes, safely and independently. Clients' needs are assessed to determine eligibility for services.
Supportive Housing
The Cassellholme Supportive Housing Program provides Personal Support
Workers to assist residents with personal care and homemaking to help
them remain in
their apartment safely and independently for as long as possible. The
Program is funded by the Ministry of Health & Long Term Care and
available to the tenants of Castle Arms I, II, and III, Keiller MacKay
Apartments and Corpus Christi Apartments.
- Personal Care consists of assistance with bathing, transferring,
grooming and other activities of daily living.
- Meal Preparation is available for clients who are unable to cook or
prepare meals.
- Meal Assistance is a short visit by the
Personal Support Worker to assist with heating and serving a meal that was prepared during an
advanced meal preparation.
- Housekeeping consists of vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms & kitchens,
mopping floors and is scheduled once every 4 weeks. Help with heavy
housework must be purchased privately. (eg. cleaning cupboards, ceiling
fans, windows, curtain, moving furniture).
- Laundry consists of various services. Some clients may need help with
all the laundry or only with heavy laundry.

Caregiver Support / Respite Services

What is
Caregiver Support / Respite Services?
- This service provides relief time for caregivers of seniors with:
Alzheimer Disease/dementia, confusion/forgetfulness, acute or chronic
illness, frailness and disabilities.
- A Personal Support Worker comes to your home and stays with the
person for whom you are caring. The goal of the program is to help
relieve some of the stress placed on family relationships and help
prevent caregiver burnout.

The Adult Day Program provides a supervised, safe environment and
offers companionship with individuals who share common interests and
life experiences.
The Adult Day Program enhances the daily life of seniors and
encourages clients to actively engage in a program that maximizes their
abilities and promotes a sense of accomplishment.
Some of the special features include an outside patio, garden,
wheelchair accessible washrooms, large bright sunny room, rest area,
access to hairdressing services and much more.
Who is eligible?
- A person who will benefit from social and recreational activities within
a supportive environment.
- A person who may require assistance with mobility or other activities
daily.
- A person who has a caregiver who would benefit from some regular
respite.
- A person who is 18 years of age or older.
Available Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- $15 per day. Includes hot lunch (up to 8 hours, one meal)
- $13.50 per half day, includes meal
- $7.50 per half day or evening. No meal
- Other services available for addition fee (i.e. bathing)
